Public procurement as a spur to innovation



Philip Ternouth, our Associate Director responsible for Research & Development, is coordinating the lessons learned from the US experience of the SBIR/STTR schemes and for (D)ARPA to help guide UK policy initiatives.

The success of economic communities in the global economy depends upon the ability of companies to innovate in products and services. Universities may make a contribution to companies' success in innovation; however we believe that there are constraints in small companies' ability and propensity to engage seriously in both indigenous R&D and innovation and in engaging with universities in support of innovation activities...
